Simone Saunders Is Making Therapy Accessible For Everyone

Let’s face it, the “share what your therapist told you” trend is good, but getting real advice from a professional is better. Enter therapist and founder of The Cognitive Corner, Simone Saunders, who is working hard to bring therapeutic healing to the masses. Simone offers her audience free tools and psychoeducation on a daily basis, including somatic coping tools, how-to videos on dealing with shame and other emotions, and explanations of therapy terms and concepts. Merging authenticity with credibility, she has emerged as a pioneer on TikTok, redefining the way we approach mental health and wellbeing in the digital age.

As an industry professional and a creator, she uses platforms like Patreon and TikTok, as well as digital products like ebooks and workshops to meet the needs of her community. We sat down with Simone to talk about the advantages of digital resources in therapy, combating stigma through social media, monetization strategies, and how she determines which digital products to create for her audience.

Little Extras

🏫 Education > cancellation. YouTube is giving creators a slap on the wrist and an opportunity to correct Community Guideline violations with new educational training courses.

🎥 Is Meta trying to compete with YouTube again? Instagram confirmed it is working on 10-minute Reels. If all goes well, it could be a Shorts alternative.

💬 Ain’t nobody got time for screenshotting a comment, cropping, and adding it to stories. Luckily, Meta is testing a feature that will simplify the process with an “add to story” icon.

🤑 Make that money, honey. It’s no secret that YouTube is one of the best platforms for monetization. How do you cash in? Here’s how to use its Partner Program effectively.

📢 YouTube Shorts novices, listen up. Shorts Product Lead, Todd Sherman, has some advice for you: focus on quality, don’t delete and repost, and prioritize audience over algorithm.

🤔 X is working on addressing payout confusion with detailed listings of payout periods, helping creators understand exactly how, why, and when they made revenue.

🎄 Don’t freak out, but Christmas is only 109 days away. Data says 50% of creators begin holiday planning in August, which means if you haven’t started yet, you’re late.

🐕 Your fave internet shiba inu isn’t just cute to watch, it’s likely also a “petfluencer.” Turns out pet creators are a big industry, and petfluencer agencies are ready to lick up the revenue.

Cheers — To the Creator Educators of WineTok

Intimidated by a lack of wine knowledge? Join the club. Or at the very least, join the TikTok movement of people engaging in insightful, approachable conversations around wine. Known as #WineTok, here you’ll find a vibrant community of wine enthusiasts and educators who are making learning about wine a little less daunting. From offering tips on food pairings and explanations about grape varietals, to demystifying industry jargon, these creator educators are uncorking their knowledge for a very thirsty audience (the hashtag alone has over 750M views).

Eun Hee Susan Kwon (@ehk.vin), Warner Boin (@confidenceuncorked), and Steph Cameron (@stephthesommelier) are a few of the creators at the forefront of the movement, creating content that revolves around helping wine novices build confidence in their knowledge and skills. Their message? “You don’t have to be a connoisseur to enjoy wine.” Cheers to that!
