When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? If you’re a millennial, probably a marine biologist or a power ranger. For this up-and-coming generation, the answer is a little different: 29% want to be a YouTuber. With 15 million active creators on YouTube, and 321,000 channels with 100,000 subscribers or more, it’s safe to say there’s a better chance of making it big online than working with dolphins. Let’s peek behind the curtain and consider some of the ways in which creators make money on YouTube. Between the YouTube Partner Program, ad revenue-sharing, Super Chat and Stickers, channel memberships, etc., the platform is making it easier than ever to forge your own path. Let’s explore some of the metrics together.

TikTok’s Paywall Feature Opens to More Creators
In early 2023, TikTok introduced a new program called the Creativity Program Beta. Just a few months later in March, the platform announced another means for creators to earn money: a paywalled content feature called Series. Basically, your own VIP room to share exclusive, high-quality content with your most devoted followers.
This opened up a lot of exciting possibilities for monetization, but only a select few were able to test the waters. Good news: TikTok is finally making this feature more widely accessible. The eligibility requirements include being over 18, having an account at least 30 days old, and abiding by TikTok’s Community Guidelines. Curious if you qualify? Want to know more about this new trend of paywalled content? Let’s take a gander.
